Haiku Friday: Winter Blues

Haiku Friday

In a world of ice
it is easy to slip out
of your senses.

Winter's grip grabs me,
even my words are chilly,
too cold to utter.

I swim in sweatshirts,
dream of white sand and sunshine:
happy summer days.

Beautiful haiku, and gorgeous photo. Did you shoot that?

I'll have to check out your site. I'm nursing a 6 month old, but am ready to start pumping some to give myself a much needed break at times.

i agree with jenni - great photo. and remember only too well the never ending pumping, even though it's been 6 years, seems like yesterday.

I am tired of the cold. Spring, where are you?

The photo was taken right after an ice storm in mid-December. Can you believe that I shot it out the window of a moving car?

That’s one amazing photo, especially knowing you shot it out of the window of a moving car! You must have one excellent camera or a very steady hand. Lovely Haiku. I’d share some of our warm weather with you if I could. Today I’m lamenting WIND in my Southern California beach town at Sacred Ruminations and sharing an unexpected surprise at Small Reflections.
Hugs and blessings,
